Job DetailsJob Location: Tigard OR or remote US location - Tigard, OR 00000Position Type: Full-TimeTravel Percentage: Up to 50% The Director, Church Partnership contributes to the Calling of Medical Teams International by leading a nationwide effort and mobilizing churches to partner with, advocate for, and support Medical Teams. This role designs and oversees strategy development, church partnership programs, training initiatives, communications, and events and meetings with church leaders. The Director ensures church partnership reflects unity, credibility, and alignment with the organization’s calling and values.

Medical Teams International holds strict child and vulnerable adult safeguarding principles and a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct related to sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse in the workplace and other places where the organization’s activities are rendered. Parallel to technical competence, recruitment and selection, hiring decisions will give due emphasis to assessing candidates’ eligibility, thorough background checks, police clearance, and professional reference check processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, scale, and lead the development of a church mobilization strategy to identify, engage, equip, and activate churches in support of Medical Teams.
Build, oversee, and lead the Church Partnership Team to mobilize churches across the US, while fostering partnerships with churches in program countries to support and strengthen local partnerships and programmatic impact.
Identify and design church partnership opportunities in alignment with organizational programs and strategy.
Lead church partnership efforts in collaboration with the Chief Marketing & Mobilization Officer.
Develop a series of standalone, tolls and resources such as mixed-media workshops for churches covering topics such as the scope of humanitarian challenges in specific countries, the theology of service, serving internationally, opportunities for individuals to serve and support Medical Teams’ work, Medical Teams’ approach, working in foreign countries, and more.
Develop pastoral resources for pastors and lay teachers, including sermons, brief teachings, illustrative examples, and stories.
Develop age-appropriate, mixed media resources for churches to engage children and youth, foster training, interest, and partnership with Medical Teams.
Manage all church partnership efforts, including seminars and trainings on Medical Teams’ work, a theological framework for serving, opportunities to serve internationally, and pathways for volunteering and partnering with Medical Teams.
Ensure church programs and initiatives are aligned, accurately represented, and grounded in Medical Teams’ front-line program work.
Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Marketing teams to advance Medical Teams’ national growth and outreach efforts.
Regularly engage with churches, seminaries, denominations, schools and universities, and other faith-based organizations to raise awareness of Medical Teams and support national growth and outreach efforts.
Cultivate and maintain ongoing, mutually supportive partnerships with churches and pastors.
Partner with the Marketing team to develop resources that clearly convey Medical Teams’ desired brand identity and positioning.
Ensure brand integrity, authenticity, and ethical storytelling in all church partnership initiatives.
Develop and manage a team of staff, interns, and volunteers, ensuring a culture that aligns with our values, motivates partnership, and high performance.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Philanthropy and Global Programs, to integrate storytelling and enhance the Medical Teams’ experience for churches.
Ensure the Safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse & Harassment, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies. Incumbents will remain alert and responsive to any child and adult safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child and adult safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Safeguarding code of conduct and behavior expectations.
Other Duties:
Ensure accountability is integrated into all aspects of work, including: project design and implementation; staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management; partnership agreements; and reporting.
Utilize volunteers when appropriate.
