Health, Safety, Environmental Intern

SUMMARY:

The MAHLE North America Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented intern to support regional HSE initiatives from its Murfreesboro, TN location. This position includes coordinating safety and environmental/sustainability data for over 40 sites in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, and implementing a cutting edge, integrated, cloud-based software system to manage HSE systems.  While the position is regional in scope, the Murfreesboro manufacturing site provides the opportunity to gain practical experience in a Tier I automotive supplier with over 800 employees and a variety of production processes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use data management tools to record, analyze, and communicate HSE performance
• Develop reports and presentations for business unit, regional, and global leadership teams
• Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments in a manufacturing environment
• Develop work instructions and training materials to support business objectives

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Successful completion of Sophomore year of a degree program in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Management, or related program  
• Software skills are highly desired
• Microsoft Excel skills are required 
• Factory or warehouse experience is a plus but not necessary
