60000211 - Access Control Technician

A Brief Overview
Provides access control services to the hospital, and satellite facilities as needed, and assists in making recommendations to management on access control systems and/or products and costs associated with such systems and/or products. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Provides data entry functions to update access control systems.
- Provides locksmith functions.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience Qualifications
- 1-3 years Locksmith Two (2) years of experience in locksmith.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to understand and prepare written materials at a moderate level as would be required through completion of high school.
- Ability to use a computer and software as related to access control.
- Ability to use computer office programs such as Microsoft Office and e-mail.
- Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to understand access control systems and to communicate with a variety of individuals clearly and precisely.
Licenses and Certifications
- Locksmith Accredited technical school
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
