This will be a 2nd shift position: 2:00pm - 10:30pm M-F 

We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance/Painting Technician 2 to be primarily responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of Illumina’s finish/surface maintenance plan. Reporting to the 2nd shift facilities supervisor, your role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic and structural integrity of our campus. Your core skills in painting, along with knowledge in color theory, must be strong.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for executing high-quality finish projects.
  • Use communication skills to effectively resolve problems with technical personnel including department managers, supervisors, and outside technical support.
  • Collaborate with employees and contractors to ensure efficient completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, including the workshop following good housekeeping practices consistently.
  • Travels between facilities to support all functional areas.
  • Orders and stocks supplies, spare parts, and equipment.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis.
  • Respond to after-hour calls when you are on on-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Two years of skilled, journey-level painting and traffic painting experience required.
  • Minimum of one year of facilities maintenance experience required.
  • Surface preparation and maintenance, painting, drywall patching, drywall texture, and miscellaneous maintenance and repair tasks to variety of surfaces; and perform related duties as required.
  • Painting of pavement lane markings, legends, parking stalls, stop bars, and crosswalks; fabricate, install, and maintain traffic signs; and perform related duties as required.
  • Ability to continually learn through on-the-job training, independent training, and research.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical theories. 
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflect positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices.
  • Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, kneel, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Keep accurate work records and follow Good Document Practices.
  • Willing to work overtime and/or support unplanned activities.
  • Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
  • Physically able to operate electric hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift, and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment.
  • Able to work in close places such as closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults, etc.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.

The estimated base hourly range for the Facilities Maintenance/Painting Technician 2- 2nd Shift role based in the United States of America is: $22.59 - $33.84. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
