Centier Bank’s Summer Internship Program is designed to help college students develop technical skills, business acumen, and leadership abilities while experiencing the dynamic world of community banking. This 12-week program, beginning in May, provides a well-rounded, hands-on experience that includes:

• Program mentor for guidance throughout the internship
• Leadership panels with department heads
• Networking lunches with peers
• Multiple professional development workshops

• Opportunities to volunteer and serve the community

Our program provides the foundational skills, support, and exposure needed to explore a long-term career with Centier Bank, all within a values-driven, supportive environment.

Internships require up to 40 hours a week and would work at various Centier Bank locations in Lake and Porter County. This is a paid internship.

This is an in-person, paid internship ($19/hour) starting in May 2025. Hours are M-F 8a-5p.

Position Overview: As a Retail Banking Intern at Centier Bank, you will gain exposure to various retail banking operations, participate in projects that drive the business forward, and develop your leadership skills. This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals while contributing to important banking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and collaborate on projects related to banking services, customer experience, and process improvements.
• Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns for bank products and services.
• Contribute to research on emerging banking trends, products, and industry best practices.
• Assist with the preparation of presentations, reports, and data analyses for internal stakeholders.
• Participate in team meetings, offering insights and ideas to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
• Shadow and collaborate with leaders in the retail banking team to develop an understanding of leadership strategies and business decision-making.
• Take on a leadership role in small team projects, gaining exposure to project management, collaboration, and communication within a business setting.
• Participate in training sessions focused on leadership development, financial products, and customer service excellence.
• Engage in networking opportunities with leadership and colleagues, learning about career paths and growth opportunities within the bank.
• Shadow retail branches to gain valuable insights into frontline daily operations and sales initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in banking or finance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
