Job Description
Position Summary
Sandisk is seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Director of Consumer Product Research & Data Analytics to lead our global efforts in unlocking deep consumer insights, market trends, and product performance data. Reporting to the SVP, Consumer, this role is critical in shaping product innovation, marketing strategy, and go-to-market execution by leveraging research and analytics to guide decision-making across the business.
You will lead a team responsible for primary and secondary research, competitive intelligence, consumer X segmentation, product usage analysis, and advanced analytics to support our consumer product roadmap and brand strategy. Your work will influence every stage of the product lifecycle—from innovation and development to positioning and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Consumer Insights & Product Research
· Lead global consumer insights strategy to uncover unmet needs, product usage behaviors, and emerging market trends.
· Design and oversee qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., ethnographic studies, surveys, focus groups, usability testing) to guide product development and user experience.
· Partner with product, marketing, and design teams to translate insights into actionable product features and positioning.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
· Build and scale a data analytics function focused on consumer behavior, purchase patterns, NPS, loyalty, and product performance.
· Define and manage KPIs and dashboards to measure success of product launches and marketing campaigns.
· Utilize advanced analytics (predictive modeling, segmentation, conjoint, etc.) to guide strategic initiatives.
Competitive & Market Intelligence
· Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to assess threats and opportunities in key consumer categories (e.g., memory cards, SSDs, USB drives, cloud storage services).
· Deliver regular executive-level reporting and actionable insights to inform pricing, innovation, and brand differentiation.
· Lead all brand health studies globally
Cross-Functional Influence
· Act as a strategic thought partner to Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and R&D teams.
· Translate data into compelling narratives that drive executive decision-making and cross-functional alignment.
· Contribute to global product roadmap planning, regional strategies, and channel development.
Leadership & Team Management
· Lead and grow a team of data analytics professionals.
· Cultivate a data-driven culture of curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
· Manage external research vendors, tools, and technology platforms.
Qualifications
Qualifications
· 12–15+ years of experience in consumer insights, product research, or analytics within a technology, consumer electronics, or CPG environment.
· Proven track record of influencing product development and strategy through data and insights.
· Expertise in both traditional and modern research methodologies and analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau, Qualtrics).
· Strong leadership and team development experience, with ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
· Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to simplify complex data into executive-ready insights.
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Psychology, Data Science, or related field; Master's or MBA preferred.
