Medical Records Assistant

• Schedule: PRN
• Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Blount
• Location: Oneonta, AL

What You Will Do

Perform clerical functions related to filing, retrieval and distribution of documents and medical records in the assigned area.

• Data entry into electronic medical record
• Completion of tasks witin the Imaging system
• transportation of patients to and from the department
• works alongside the technologist for patient safety
• Calling patients for imaging procedures
• Release information from medical records in response to properly authorized requests. Follow all regulations regarding the release of health information whose confidentiality is protected by state and federal laws.

What You Will Need

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
