Plans and oversees the execution of business architecture-driven initiatives while ensuring Discover's systems provide the necessary functionality and flexibility aligned with the company's long-term objectives. Oversees execution on strategy and pipeline of projects for the Business Technology Innovation Office and integration management in case of a merger or acquisition.  Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and enables collaboration and partnership across cross-functional teams, with internal and external partners, executes on strategy and architecture-driven initiatives. Drives or assists with communications on strategic initiatives to help drive consensus, achieve clarity, and solve business problems. Provides oversight and process guidance for Integration Management activities in the case of a merger or acquisition.

• Drives or assists research and/or brainstorming sessions. Helps promote a culture of innovation within the department. Translates ideas and concepts into executable projects.

• Provides leadership and guidance to teams/business units where there is no clear organizational ownership yet defined or where products/technology is not yet institutionalized or adopted.

• Mentors and assists more junior team members.

• Understands and tracks technology trends and strategies. Represents Discover Business Technology when working with external parties.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

• 8+ years of experience in Project Management, or related field

• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Project Management, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree

• Strong Jira experience 

• Intermediate or Advanced experience with data visualization tools

• Excellent communication with ability to effectively influence partners and stakeholders. 

• Strong analytics experience synthesizing data into compelling messages for change to Product and Engineering stakeholders. 

• Expertise in creating software delivery plans: breaking down larger concepts into consumable work and working with engineering to size and sequence work for delivery. 

• Understands need for architectural runway in software development and proactively seeks ways to optimize work flowing through the system.  

• Strong experience engaging and partnering with a PMO governance body. 

• Ability to roll up sleeves and dig deep into the work; have intimate knowledge of- delivery in area supported. 

• Expert in identifying dependencies and risks between epics/features and knowing how to effectively document them and drive them to conclusion.  

• Extreme ownership of work and sees through ideation, solution and implementation

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200
