Job Summary:
We are seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join our Electronics Design Group, reporting directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in micro power supply design, analog circuitry, and embedded systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of new electronic PCBs, guiding projects from initial concept through breadboard validation, prototyping, and release to production. Designs will focus on low-current devices, typically ranging from 50–200 mW.
• Prepare project proposals, conduct circuit design and analysis, and develop PC board layout concepts and requirements.
• Supervise mechanical design and contribute to concept formulation.
• Perform stress and reliability analysis of circuitry, specify and select components, manage de-rating, and conduct cost analysis.
• Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation.
Product Development Focus:
• Drive the creation of new products and enhance existing ones to reduce costs, add features, improve performance and reliability, and integrate embedded technology.
• Preferred experience includes proficiency with SPICE, ANSYS, and other design software, circuit miniaturization, and high-voltage technology.
Collaboration & Communication:
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, with timely interactions across engineering teams at various Elbit Systems of America locations.
• Prepare and manage project schedules and supervise electronics technicians and interns.
• Work hands-on and provide one-on-one mentoring to technicians and interns.
Qualifications:
• BS Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• 6+ years' experience
• Experience with any of the following: micro-PCB design, low power, ultra-dense, electronic packaging, miniature electronic devices, magnetics, EMI filtering.
• Experience with Failure Analysis of PCB’s.
• Experience with digital electronics, DSPs, PGAs, FPGAs, PICs and Microcontrollers/Microprocessors (STM32 and MSP430 in particular) Strong electronic hardware design experience and good understanding of firmware/software development processes.
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts in compliance with the specifications
• Verify design robustness by completing EMI product level testing
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Experience with closed loop feedback systems
• Effectively communicate design and engineering requirements
• Able to work as part of a cross functional team
• Demonstrated initiative, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Capability to develop and conduct electrical tests to include troubleshooting
• MS Office skills; Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio
• Ability to obtain DOD Security Clearance
