Job Description
 

Overview

The Manager-OCA Large Events Center manages all operations for the South Dallas Cultural Center within the City of Dallas. This role coordinates all programming and promotion of the Event Center, develops contracts and manages departmental revenues.  

Essential Functions

1 Develops and maintains a working relationship with large theater companies and promoters.

2 Develops and maintains relationships with established and emerging artists in the visual and performing arts to enhance the visibility of the center.

3 Prepares all contracts for rentals and cultural services at the center working with programming staff to ensure timely and correct execution of all contracts for the center.

4 Manages center’s budget; works with OAC Business Manager to deliver services in line with budget and capital expenditures.

5 Coordinates all maintenance requests for the center working with OAC facilities staff and various City departments

6 Manages and implements special projects for the center.

7 Serves as a community representative in the arts community attends arts and cultural events, civic and community meetings and gatherings.

8 Promotes the event center and OAC’s program throughout the community.

9 Partners with OAC leadership to facilitate requests from civic and community leaders for special events at the center.

10 Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

1 Knowledge of City policies and procedures.

2 Knowledge of the arts and culture ecosystem of the City of Dallas.

3 Knowledge of cultural programs and related funding.

4 Knowledge of project management.

5 Ability to manage cultural programs and related administration.

6 Ability to manage and supervise staff supporting cultural programs.

7 Ability to facilitate and administer contracts.

8 Ability to develop and implement effective budget for own venues.

9 Ability to support and facilitate the success of artists, art organizations, and other art venues.

10 Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

11 Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

Experience

Five (5) plus years of experience in art and culture sector.

Licenses and Certifications

None

Education

Bachelor's degree in Art’s Education or Social Sciences



Salary Range

 

$73,584.79 - $91,980.98
