Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $42.50.JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Electrician Specialist will execute improvement projects at the Complex as needed, including troubleshooting of systems not operating as intended. Assists Complex in meeting or exceeding stated operational, environmental, and safety goals. Support Industrial Electricians and Engineers as required.
Responsible for performing all duties on a professional level and complying with the Production Superintendent, under direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor. To troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical related functions, equipment, systems, buildings and/or physical structures in a manner that allows the plant to operate effectively and efficiently, working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Execute project implementation across the complex as required. Makes suggestions and identifies areas for improvement. Troubleshoot and correct operational issues. Provide additional support across the complex as needed. May be required to perform other related duties as needed. The following job functions are to be performed in accordance with the spirit and philosophy contained within the Operating Policy and in accordance with Company Policy: Plans and lays out work assignments to accomplish them with maximum efficiency, interpreting and following blueprints, sketches, NEC, and NFPA 70E requirements. Reads, interprets and follows electrical blueprints, diagrams, and sketches; making all measurements and calculations necessary to complete the job safely. Prepares electrical diagrams, sketches, and documents all as built changes as necessary. Assembles and installs all types of new or repaired electrical circuits, systems, machinery and equipment in accordance with city, state, NEC and NFPA 70E Codes performing all duties necessary to complete the job in a safe and timely manner. Disassembles motors, gear motors, regulators, switches and other electrical equipment. Repairs, replaces, cleans, and reassembles parts. Lubricates all types of motors, generators etc. as needed. Inspects electrical circuits, systems, equipment and machinery. Diagnoses faulty operation and determines proper corrective action and makes necessary adjustments, replacements and repairs. Installs, maintains and repairs temperature controlling and recording instruments including; thermocouples, chart recorders, voltage and current sensing devices, and potentiometers. Maintains and repairs battery charging equipment, batteries, ignition and other electrical systems on material handling equipment. Services electrical equipment on air compressors, refrigeration equipment, air conditioners and other equipment by inspecting motors, starters and control equipment throughout the plant, including the replacement or repairs of parts as necessary. Inspects and tests power substations at specific intervals for grounds, voltage and temperature variations and corrects any difficulties. Maintains all lighting equipment throughout the plant including the replacement of bulbs and ballasts as necessary. Operates scissors lift, forklift and J.L.G. as necessary to perform assigned job duties. Forklift training is performed within the Safety Department area and the Training Records are kept by the Safety Department. Follows plant safety rules and knows where Safety Data Sheets can be accessed via SiteHawk. Understands and communicates Lock, Tag, Clear and Try Procedure. (LTCT) Diagnose issues, makes megger, voltmeter, ammeter, dynamometer, ground locating and other electrical tests.
