Position Summary
The Principal, Commercial Contracts & Pricing Specialist within Marketing Operations is a strategic leader responsible for shaping and driving pricing and contracting strategies that enable profitable growth across Teleflex’s Interventional Business Unit. This role serves as the business unit authority on commercial pricing, deal strategy, and competitive positioning, leading complex, high-value negotiations and bid strategies across hospital systems, IDNs, GPOs, and distribution channels.
They act as a key advisor to senior commercial leadership, influencing pricing architecture, contracting frameworks, and market access strategies. This role establishes scalable processes, drives cross-functional alignment, and ensures that pricing and contract strategies balance market competitiveness with long-term profitability and compliance.
Principal Responsibilities
• Lead business unit strategy for execution of complex RFPs, RFQs, and large-scale contract negotiations across health systems, IDNs, GPOs, and distributors
• Own pricing strategy development for key product portfolios, including price positioning, discount frameworks, and bid strategies aligned to market dynamics and financial targets
• Serve as a strategic partner to sales leadership, advising on deal structuring, pricing approvals, and negotiation tactics for high-impact commercial opportunities
• Govern pricing frameworks, policies, and tools, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance
• Drive advanced analytics and insights, leveraging market trends, competitive intelligence, and performance data to inform pricing strategy and business decisions
• Lead the optimization of contracting and pricing processes
• Act as the central point of communication, ensuring alignment across Finance, Legal, Contracts, and executive stakeholders
• Influence long-term commercial strategy, including market access approaches, customer segmentation, and value-based pricing models
• Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in pricing, contracting, commercial operations, or strategic marketing within a regulated industry (medical device strongly preferred)
• Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations, large-scale bids, and enterprise-level pricing strategies
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• High organizational skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of healthcare purchasing systems (GPOs, IDNs, hospital systems) preferred
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/CRM systems
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly for formal bid responses and contracts
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to wo
