If you are a Technical professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based out of our Sidney, OH location, you will perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the lab. You will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the lab.

AS A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL:

• Test and evaluate failure modes of compressors for new product development, customers, and existing product support.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment, mechanical equipment, and various computer-assisted machines and measuring devices.
• Provide consulting and communicate technical information.
• Entering data into CATS, Salesforce, Xfracas and Sigma.
• Document assembly and inspection results completely and accurately.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, cutting, welding, and brazing equipment.
• Utilize hydraulic/electrical/mechanical schematics and exploded view blueprints.
• Collaborate and work in both a team environment and individually.
• Follow Copeland’s safety policies and procedures.
• Lifting to 30 pounds intermittently.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• High school diploma plus two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Mechanical and technical experience in at least one of the following disciplines: HVAC/R, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical technologies
• Must have troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programs
• Forklift driving experience
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• Certification within HVAC, mechanical, electrical, etc.
• Troubleshooting with compressors

SCHEDULE: 
This position is for 1st shift and would consist of five-eight-hour workdays. Capable of working overtime.

About Our Location

Our newly renovated Sidney campus has 1M square feet of manufacturing floor with an additional 120k square feet of leading-edge lab facilities. This location is the headquarters for our HVACR Americas business unit. Through our many years of compressor expertise, our products help bring comfort and convenience to refrigeration, commercial, industrial, and residential spaces. Approximately 1600 employees work in Sidney, who all support a multitude of business functions. With the blend of busines
