Job Description

 

Turner & Townsend are looking to recruit a Senior Cost Consultant with a proven track record and experience working on major projects to provide cost control and management support within client’s US projects portfolio.

The Senior Cost Consultant will provide structured, efficient project data capture, reporting, archiving, and benchmarking for end-of-life large capital projects.  Assist in providing the framework and delivery of project closeout reports, benchmarking and lessons learned.

  • Discipline knowledge: civil, structural, mechanical, pipework, electrical, instrumentation, access, insulation, painting. 
  • Knowledge of large capital stage gate processes and procedures is highly desirable. 
  • An Engineering or Quantity Surveying degree is desirable however not mandatory as industrial experience in a similar role is critical.

 

Key Objectives

 

  • The Senior Cost Consultant is to provide project close out delivery including project benchmarking, contracting, cost and schedule management for major capital projects. 
  • The consultant will facilitate engagement sessions with client, outlining objectives, gathering, and compiling data inputs on performance and identifying recommendations for future projects.
  • Provide project close out delivery for client projects.
  • Support team in project closeout analysis.
  • Gather and review of project data to include project objectives, scope, changes, execution strategy, safety metrics, project staffing, contracting, overall cost and schedule performance.  Compile findings into lessons learned.
  • Cost reporting including summary and detailed level – including risk and status reporting.
  • Working with owners’ team, procurement team, and contractors to collect, validate and analyze project objectives, scope and changes, execution strategy, contracting strategies and all other pertinent closeout information.
  • Change management including estimate, strategies, contracting, and other changes driving project performance and delivery.
  • Analysis to include schedule and cost performance, changes and risk registers through to project end life cycle.

Qualifications

 

  • 10+ years relevant experience in offshore oil & gas, energy sector.
  • Suitably qualified & experience operating at Senior Cost Consultant level.
  • Experience with high level schedule and schedule performance analysis.
  • Experience with benchmarking and analysis of project performance.
  • Experience with cost and resource management and reporting for large projects.
  • Track, manage, and measure key project metrics to enable successful project management.
  • Experience in contract administration and contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to work as part of team as well as interacting with client’s representatives.
  • Computer literate including use of MS office packages specifically a working knowledge of Excel, emails, etc.
  • Experience of SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
