JOB SUMMARY:

As a Procurement Agent at Textron Aviation, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of quality products, monitoring supply base performance and supporting a broad spectrum of internal customers.  This position provides product procurement support for Direct, Defense, and Aftermarket departments across various Textron aircraft platforms.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Releases purchase orders and stock transfer orders within departmental guidelines to satisfy system and/or customer demand (AOG).
• Reviews and actions exception reports from ERP system to resolve procurement disconnects.
• Executes contract requirements as related to negotiated pricing updates, performance metrics, receiving and invoice resolution, quality escapes, and order policies.
• Complies with all public law requirements, company (and business) policies and procedures, import/export regulations, and employs sound business practices.
• Responsible for inventory/replenishment forecasting and supplier performance metrics.
• Responsible for expediting requirements to fulfill end customer need dates and providing useful information in support of customer communications.
• May be responsible for establishing inventory plans to achieve targets by maintaining replenishment strategies & programs, ensuring accurate system lead-times, reorder points, optimal stock levels, lot sizes, minimum order quantities, economic order quantities, safety stock, safety lead time, etc.
• Works with appropriate management personnel, reviews inadequacies and irregularities in purchased materials and helps establish applicable corrective action plans.
• Identifies and delivers cost savings initiatives as planned and forecasted.
• Basic contract interpretation skills necessary to read and interpret supplier agreements.
• Negotiates with vendors to obtain economical prices, quantities, and establish improved procurement programs according to Textron Aviation specifications, production schedules, material requirements, and company policies and procedures.
• Assumes role for on-the-job training and advising to team members as appropriate.
• Leads Purchasing personnel to assist in the research, development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
• Demonstrates the ability to identify alternate solutions accurately and quickly when the required part is not readily available, especially as relates to parts fulfillment for AOG and/or critical production shortages.
• Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in procurement operations and work with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
