This is a third shift position. The shift may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As a third shift Assembly Manufacturing Engineer - Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) for John Deere Seeding Group located in Moline, IL, you will:
- Support daily operations by responding to tactical safety, quality and efficiency issues while supporting/leading performance improvements for the business unit team.
- Support uptime of tools, fixtures and equipment
- Support/lead engineering projects to improve safety, quality and efficiency through torque tooling improvements, capital investment projects and JDAAT expansion/deployment.
- Identify opportunities and implement continuous improvement projects in support of achieving CI200 target goals for safety, quality, delivery and efficiency.

What Skills You Need
- Experience supporting a production/factory floor environment.
- Working knowledge of basic assembly tooling and equipment
- Ability to work during 3rd shift and flexible hours, including overtime (daily and weekends, as needed).
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to communicate cross- functionally with both salary and wage workforce.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete multiple, concurrent projects.
- Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with the Continuous Improvement Engineering Change process
- Experience working directly with manufacturing engineering systems with process controls (i.e.: JDAAT as a manufacturing engineering system). (MES)/quality tool or similar.
- Experience with tooling improvement projects.
- Experience in a production union environment.
- Admin/authoring experience with manufacturing engineering systems. Knowledge and experience applying principles of performance- based pay plans, (i.e.: CIPP and MP Planner knowledge and experience).
- Experience using SAP application.
- Experience learning and applying technology, systems, data mining and analysis tools to drive business improvements.
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience.
