Our Organization and Mission:

The Mission of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is to “License Efficiently and Regulate Fairly”. The Division of Technology supports the mission of DBPR through management of the systems that underpin the services the Department offers to the public. Our staff continually work to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of DBPR, through consultation with the business units within the Department to integrate new and innovative technology solutions.

 

The Work You Will Do:

This position provides professional administrative support for the Division of Technology by performing fiscal, purchasing and human resource functions and assists in conducting daily administrative activities.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide staffing support to managers in the Division of Technology.  
  • Handles special assignments in support of specific events or meetings. 
  • Prepare correspondence and documents. 
  • Schedules appointments and returns calls as requested. Acts as personal assistant to and manages the schedule and calendar for the Chief Information Officer.
  • Acts as the division’s HR Liaison with the Bureau of Human Resources.  Maintains employee files for the division. 
  • Prepares personnel hiring and separation packages.  Responsible for personnel paperwork related to pay or duty alterations.
  • Maintains the division’s organizational chart.
  • Processes purchase order renewals and assists in the maintenance of long-term contracts.
  • Maintains the vendor files.
  • Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite including Visio. 
  • Ability to use available technology to perform duties including computer software, hardware & data systems. 
  • Knowledge of MFMP and State of Florida purchasing card program. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand State purchasing rules. 
  • Skilled in contract negotiation. 
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices. 
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
