Finnair Technical Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of the Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes.
We are now looking for a
MANAGER, SPARE SUPPLY OPERATIONS
who will ensure the smooth and efficient supply of aircraft maintenance spares and contracted component services, contributing to the overall success of the airline's technical operations.
This is a fixed-term, parental leave position starting as soon as possible and lasting until the end of June 2026.
Main responsibilities:
Oversee daily spares supply operations: Manage procurement, inventory, and delivery of aircraft maintenance spares and services
Inventory management: Collaborate on planning, control excess/shortages, and optimize turnover
Cross-functional coordination: Foster collaboration and communication between internal teams, such as engineering, maintenance planning, maintenance operations, and logistics
Vendor management: Maintain supplier approvals, monitor performance, and resolve issues. Occasionally travel to meet vendors
Team leadership: Make sure that the team has sufficient resources, develop and maintain the capabilities of the spares supply team, organize training, and guidance to ensure competence in operational tasks
Performance monitoring: Set and track KPIs, implement improvements
Continuous improvement: Drive process optimization, cost reduction, and sustainability
Technology integration: Use digital tools to enhance efficiency and data accuracy
Our expectations:
Minimum 3 years of experience in operative procurement / material management / commercial business / managerial position
Deep understanding of supply chain principles and practices
Familiarity with supply chain technology solutions
Ability to optimize efficiency and drive continuous improvement
Proficiency in analyzing data and making strategic decisions
Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards and compliance
Ability to identify and mitigate operational risks
Dedication to meeting the needs of internal stakeholders and customers
Ability to work well with stakeholders and teams
Skills to motivate and develop team effectively
Excellent English, both written and spoken
Commercial, technical, and/or other applicable education and extensive experience
