The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Shift: Monday–Friday 8:00AM - 5:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $22/hr. (biweekly)

Education: A high school diploma / GED is a must.

Experience: You should have at least 2 years of experience in material handling/inventory replenishment, as well as 1–2 years of face-to-face customer service experience.

Collaboration Tool: While not mandatory, experience with Microsoft Teams would be a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Word and Excel.

  • A proven background in either shipping, inventory management, or purchasing.

  • Outstanding customer service skills, showcasing a professional and can-do attitude.

  • A strong dedication to safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Self-motivation, forward-thinking mindset, and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

How you will thrive and create an impact 

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. Under moderate supervision, primarily responsible for documenting inventory by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses and removal of items. Prepares inventory reports by collecting and analyzing information on stock usage. Maintains inventory operations by following policies and procedures and reports changes as needed. In this role you will:

  • Manage various inventory items, including consumables, chemicals, samples, etc, ensuring accurate inventory control, processing requests, facilitating inventory movement on and off-site, and meeting customer metric reporting needs.

  • Execute various inventory management tasks.

  • Handle purchasing-related responsibilities, which may encompass back-order reporting, order entry, and expediting orders.

  • Coordinate shipping activities, including the shipping of customer materials.
