The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense & Space (BDS) is hiring an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join the Patriot Advanced Capability 3 (PAC3) team located in Huntsville, AL. This unique position is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support the production rate increase and advanced technology upgrade activities. This role will be involved in production support activities as well as continuous development projects improving manufacturing.
Shift:
This position is for a C Shift.
C Shift: F/Sa/Sun; 3x12 – Start 6am
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies
Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build
Leads and implements manufacturing plans
Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices
Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions
Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule
Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts
Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems
Implements lean principles and technologies
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications
2+ years reading and interpreting engineering drawings for work instruction creation
2+ years reading and interpreting engineering part lists for bill of material creation
2+ years using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
Willingness to work in a shop floor environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
3+ years with manufacturing execution systems such as MESci
3+ years with Product Data Management tools/systems such as Windchill
3+ years of experience in shop floor activities in a multi-disciplinary environment
Experience with model based engineering implementation into model based instructions
Experience with drawing, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with design concepts and techniques such as concurrent engineering and Design for Manufacture/Assembly (DFM/A)
SMT Experience
Experience working with electronic circuits specifically: PWB's, BGA's, CGA's, and LCC's
