About Our Program:
Easterseals, a national nonprofit, has supported individuals with disabilities for over 50 years. Its services for intellectual and developmental disabilities provides daily living support and community-based programs that teaches individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities valuable life skills through instruction and real world experiences.
What You’ll Do:
The Direct Support Professional provides high-quality support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by assisting with daily living activities, implementing service plans, administering medications, providing transportation, and fostering strong relationships in community, residential, and facility settings.
Key responsibilities include:
• Provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) including but not limited to, feeding, toileting, assistance with hygiene, monitoring and/or administering medications and all areas of adult daily living skills.
• Implement Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for daily living, transportation, medication and more.
• Transports consumers within the community using the company van.
• Deliver high-quality services in community, residential, and facility settings.
• Build strong relationships with consumers and external stakeholders.
Who You Are:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 1 year of previous experience in direct care or related field.
• Requirements: Possess a valid driver’s license & acceptable driving record.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
