Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY and SCOPE
The technician’s job is to ensure the smooth running of the production system and to maintain equipment for which they are responsible in a specified condition.
Note: This is a second shift position.
MAIN DUTIES
Carrying out corrective maintenance.
Carrying out preventive maintenance.
Carrying out improvement maintenance.
Duty 1: Carrying out corrective maintenance.
Carries out work at the request of the team leader and/or the molding/marking adjusters and/or the Maintenance Manager on tools during production.
Analyses, repairs, or replaces defective components.
Reporting: Analysis (nature of the breakdown, duration of the work, resources required, etc.).
Organizes work in compliance with safety rules.
Drafts work orders.
Enters information in the MP2 (computerized maintenance management system).
Makes production reference changes on sensitive equipment.
Follows applicable methods and procedures.
Advises on and participates in meetings.
Duty 2: Carrying out preventive maintenance.
Ensures the follow-up and organization of work in compliance with the set deadlines and taking into account operational constraints.
Carries out environmental safety audits (5S) in all technical premises and reports any discrepancies to the Maintenance Manager.
Duty 3: Carrying out improvement maintenance
Contributes to the improvement of production tools and maintenance procedures by reporting recurring technical issues and associated solutions.
Participates in and seeks out conversations with various business contacts depending on the issues encountered to arrive at an optimal solution.
Carries out work by themselves, takes responsibility for organizing work or has work carried out by third parties according to the skills required.
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Operational availability rate of equipment and automated lines.
Improvement actions implemented: volume and quality.
Preventive actions implemented on time.
Quality of communication with the manager, staff, and external contractors.

Follow and apply processes and procedures.
Diagnose equipment failures.
Analyze: Assess possible solutions, response time and associated risks.
Convey knowledge
ASSOCIATED KNOWLEDGE (is familiar with, understands)
High school diploma required
2 years’ higher education in maintenance preferred.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Read drawings, diagrams, and technical instructions.
Knowledge of electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, automation, robotics, and vision.
Make a written and oral report.
Analyze a breakdown, make a diagnosis, then carry out the work.
Use job-related IT resources (machine program, MP2)
Is familiar with 5S methods.
