Description

Board Ops 

Primary Function  

It is the responsibility of the Board Ops to greet guests upon entering the casino, accurately administer the poker game board waiting list, and direct the players to the appropriate game in alignment with the mission and core values of Stones Gambling Hall. 

 

Essential Responsibilities 

All job duties are to be performed in accordance with Company Policies & Procedures, OSHA standards and other legal regulations and requirements.  Essential responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: 

 

  • Operate and maintain an accurate poker board waiting list by greeting guests when entering the Saloon, and entering names into the poker game wait board.  

  • Assist the Game Attendant in the smooth and efficient flow of poker games. Fill seats for the starting or breaking of games, and assist in seating and moving players from table to table. 

  • Assist the Game Attendant by greeting guests as they enter the Casino.  

  • Establish and maintain a good rapport with guests to promote continued patronage. Inform arriving guests of the types of games, limits, tournaments, promotions, and seating availability and assist them in obtaining gaming chips, food, and drink once seated.  

  • Exchange chips for cash to guests in games seated at poker tables. 

  • Attend annual BSA/AML training, as scheduled. 

  • Report to Casino Shift Manager (CSM) or Security any individuals in the casino who appear to be underage, intoxicated, whose conduct appears to be illegal, or who poses a threat to the Company's operations. 

  • Communicate with the GA, Chip Runner, and dealers to track cash transactions and input them into the Casino Tracking System (CTS).

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not required. 

 

Language Skills:  Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills are required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members of organization. 

 

Mathematical Skills:  Basic math skills. Ability to accurately calculate addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in an efficient manner. 

 

Reasoning Ability:  The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

 

Conditions of Employment 

This job has conditions of employment essential to the position that include: 

  • Must be able successfully pass a thorough background check from the City of Citrus Heights in order to obtain a Gaming License 

  • Must be able to renew and maintain an active Gaming License according to the city’s requirements
