Summary of Job Duties:
The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member at the undergraduate level. The position is responsible for teaching Audiology courses in online formats, working positively with students, staff, faculty, and the community, and mentoring undergraduate students in Audiology or Speech LanguagePathology. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and or Experience:
- Ph.D. or Au.D. in Audiology and/or Communication Sciences and Disorder;
- Expertise/Experience in Audiology Assessment and Rehabilitation.
Preferred Education and or Experience:
- Previous teaching and/or research experience a plus.
Job Duties:
- Teach the undergraduate courses ‘Intro to Audiology’ and ‘Aural Rehabilitation;
- Assist, monitor, and evaluate students in the courses assigned;
- Assist and offer professional guidance to students interested in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrable knowledge of best practices in area of expertise;
- Demonstrable knowledge of ASHA’s 2020 Standard for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology;
- Ability to interact, manage, motivate, and evaluate a diverse population of students;
- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
