Purpose

To provide leadership and strategic direction for the College of Natural Sciences (CNS) Honors Center. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities and operations to support the college-wide honors programs. To advance our core mission of fostering wellness, belonging, and success for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee and manage CNS Honors Center program components, including student engagement and programming, advising, course management, and enrollment management. Evaluate and strategize best practices for engaging with stakeholders and supporting students.

  • Teaching and Academic Support: Teach seminars for CNS Honors students. Guide students in identifying and articulating research projects aligned with their academic and professional goals.

  • Enrollment Management: Lead recruitment initiatives for CNS Honors programs. Oversees CNS Honors admissions process, including criteria development, reviewer recruitment and training, coordination with the Office of Admissions, and communication of decisions and appeals. Collect and analyze demographic, academic, and post-graduation data to inform program development and student support. Partner with the CNS Recruitment and Outreach personnel.

  • Staff Supervision and Student Support: Supervise and evaluate a professional staff that is well-equipped to meet student needs. Foster a positive environment that prioritizes student engagement and success.

  • Budget Management: Established budget priorities and contribute to strategic planning for CNS Honors.

  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field. Seven years of experience in honors education, student affairs, or academic program administration. Proven ability to present effectively to audiences of varying sizes and backgrounds. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to document teaching requirements and degree accreditation. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in related field. College or university level teaching experience. Experience teaching writing-intensive or research-focused undergraduate courses. Familiarity with data analysis and program assessment. Staff and student supervisory experience. Proven ability to collaborate across units and lead cross-functional teams.

Salary Range

$85,000 + depending on qualifications
