Job Description

Do you love pop culture and entertainment news? What about trends, viral videos, and social media? E! News is looking for an innovative and creative thinker to join the team as a Special Projects Producer. This role will be responsible for creating new branded segments for the E! News Show. The ideal candidate will have visual producer experience and have the ability to add a creative and fresh new content to the E! News Show.

This role will report into the Executive Producer and Supervising Producer, as well as work closely with our Production teams, this role will be responsible for the execution of special assignments, shoots and creating premium content alongside and with show production.

Responsibilities:

  • Write scripts and execute story telling visually through the selection of appropriate still and video images within budget and time parameters and while maintaining factual accuracy.
  • Research and produce segments, including writing editorial strong Q&A
  • Produce original and engaging editorial pieces for broadcast as assigned by the Supervising producer; including, but not limited to, efficient and timely preparation of assignment sheets; shoot preparation and follow-up, working closely with post and stage to ensure deliverables are on time and monitoring of the program to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee content from conceptualization through the various stages of execution, to include: Research/Writing/Producing/Post and Voiceover direction.
  • Identify and pitch story opportunities, finding the unique story angle while maintaining factual accuracy.
  • Basic knowledge of editing preferred (Adobe Premiere, Aftereffects or AVID), with expectation that material can be delivered from producer directly to studio when necessary.
  • Flexibility in role within the team and within the company, including working across multiple formats and social platforms to help create highly sharable content.
  • Strong communicator who is able to work closely with team members and talent, take and deliver feedback constructively, and contribute to an environment of communication and accountability.
  • Must demonstrate pop culture passion, entertainment news authority and active participation and awareness of the importance of social media to the entertainment news genre.
  • Offer a range of creative paths, where appropriate, as part of the creative development process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role within a television broadcast, news station, network or creative agency environment.
  • 2+ years of game show competition based experience
  • Experience with iNews or ENPS delivery systems preferred. 
  • Must have ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings, due to news and breaking news cycle and event coverage as needed.
  • Editing experience preferred (Adobe Premiere, Aftereffects or AVID).
  • Strong writing skills required.
