Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - DeSoto, TX

Location: DeSoto, TX
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; standard clinic hours are 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, seven days a week
Compensation: $60–$80/hour (based on experience) + bonus
Benefits: Full benefits package available

Position Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in DeSoto, TX. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management, as applicable
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Board certification or eligibility, as applicable
• PA: NCCPA certification
• NP: ANCC or AANP certification; FNP required
• Active DEA license, or ability to obtain
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• EHR proficiency
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required, or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience
• Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, and wound care
• Experience with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
