POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Criminal Justice Information Services, reporting to the Data Collection section and is under the direct supervision of the Criminal Justice Information Services Manager I. This position assists with oversight of various crime reporting data collections. The incumbent will be responsible for research analysis and management related to the data collections and/or the associated systems, procedures, rules/guidelines, and processes.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

• Monitoring multiple databases to ensure systems are operational and providing technical support as necessary;
• Ensuring information is accurate and complies with system requirements;
• Providing on-going quality assurance by identifying problem trends and recommending workable resolutions for related systems;
• Conducting research for relevant information from multiple sources;
• Collaborating with internal and external customers to gather documentation required to formulate recommendations within defined timeframes;
• Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members;
• Offering alternative direction or solutions to help customers meet reporting needs;
• Drafting detailed written notifications to customers regarding complex questions or concerns; and
• Providing management consultant services and assistance to customers to ensure the needs of local agencies are addressed.

• Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
