Job Description Summary

The Associate Director of the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) Hub is responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of Penn’s Community Violence Intervention Hub, a central coordinating body for community- and hospital-based violence prevention initiatives. This leadership position manages programmatic and operational responsibilities across multiple violence intervention projects, including but not limited to the Penn Community Violence Prevention (PCVP) program, funded by the PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD), and the PCVP Schools program, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
Cure Violence is a strategic, evidence-based public health approach to reduce and prevent shootings and killings in communities with high rates of gun violence. Key to this work is a skilled team committed to shifting community norms and facilitating behavior change among individuals at highest risk of violence involvement.
The CVI Hub Manager/Director will be responsible for supervising and supporting frontline staff across the Hub’s initiatives, including community outreach workers, hospital-based violence recovery specialists, and school-based staff. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of the Penn Injury Science Center and works closely with academic and clinical leadership to ensure coordinated implementation, fidelity to the CVI model, and continuous quality improvement.
