Job Description

INTRODUCTION:

The Workday Financial Business Analyst Intern will assist the Senior Functional Analyst and cross-functional teams in the day-to-day operations and enhancement of the Workday Financials platform. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to learn the end-to-end lifecycle of an advanced reporting project, from requirements gathering to deployment, within a leading cloud-based ERP system. The intern will support the development of reports and dashboards, gaining hands-on experience with data analysis, security configurations, and data integration concepts. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Requirements Gathering: Participate in stakeholder meetings to gather and document detailed reporting requirements, including data sources, calculated fields, and dashboard specifications. 

• Report & Dashboard Development: Assist in developing advanced Workday reports (Advanced, Composite, Matrix, Trending) and dashboards, including the creation of calculated fields and data visualizations. 

• Security Configuration: Learn and assist in configuring security settings and roles within Workday to ensure data integrity and confidentiality in reporting. 

• Testing & Validation: Conduct thorough testing of reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy, functionality, and performance, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). 

• Documentation & Training: Create and maintain detailed documentation for reporting processes, report specifications, and testing results. Assist in developing user guides and training materials. 

• Performance Optimization: Assist in reviewing and optimizing report performance for efficiency and accuracy. 

• Data Integration: Gain exposure to data integration concepts and assist in leveraging Prism Analytics to incorporate data from other systems. 

• Stay Updated: Learn about new Workday feature releases, trends, and best practices in reporting and analytics. 

• Data Analysis: Learn to translate data into actionable insights, and understand system interdependencies. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Strong interest in data analysis, reporting, and data visualization. 

• Basic understanding of financial concepts and data. 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, specifically Workday. 

• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data security.  

• A proactive and self-motivated approach.  

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
