Job Description

OBJECTIVES:

  • Lead enterprise-wide Technical Investment Procurement with end-to-end accountability for maximising the enterprise value generated from external spend (cost, cash, productivity, innovation, risk, ESG).

  • Define differentiated and well-articulated category strategies in line with business objectives and orchestrate resources across procurement and the business to deliver them.

  • Act as strategic procurement partner to the Head of Engineering and the Head of Real Estate & Facilities, co-owning the value delivered from external spend across manufacturing sites and the real estate & facilities footprint, including asset performance, reliability and lifecycle cost optimisation.

  • Manage ~$3.2B of Technical Services spend globally (Site Technical Services, MRO, Equipment, Capital Projects, Utilities, Facilities, Real Estate) and lead the Technical Services category team as a member of the Procurement Leadership Team.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Category Strategy: Develop differentiated, insight-driven category strategies aligned to enterprise priorities; embed lifecycle thinking (capex vs opex trade-offs, maintenance strategies, asset renewal); actively shape demand (scope, specifications, delivery models) to optimise total value, not just price.

  • Financial Impact & TCO: Deliver agreed savings and financial value capture opportunities through holistic spend management (incl. demand management); drive total cost of ownership optimisation across assets, services and capital investments; improve working capital through disciplined payment terms and contract structuring.

  • Value Delivery: Own and deliver a robust pipeline of initiatives aligned to value targets; orchestrate cross-functional delivery with Finance, TBS and Legal; ensure transparency, tracking and realisation of value to the P&L; translate delivery into measurable site-level outcomes (uptime, cost per unit, maintenance efficiency).

  • Supplier Base Management: Build a high-performing, rationalised and competitive supplier base; implement performance-based models; own SRM, KPIs and QBRs with strategic suppliers; ensure commercial models and contracts capture value beyond cost (productivity gains, outcome-based pricing, innovation sharing); drive standardisation of supplier performance management across sites.

  • Supplier Ecosystem & Innovation: Build strategic supplier partnerships in key categories (maintenance services, EPC/EPCM contractors, integrated facility management providers); systematically extract supplier-led innovation and productivity gains (predictive maintenance, automation, energy efficiency, delivery model redesign) and scale them across sites.

  • Business Partnering: Serve as strategic partner to the Head of Engineering (within GSQ and PDT), the Head of Real Estate & Facilities (within Global Finance) and their teams; create transparency on external spend; influence how sites and functions allocate external spend; contribute to capital planning and investment decisions related to external services and infrastructure.

  • Risk, Compliance & Resilience: Strengthen third-party risk management (supply continuity, EHS, regulatory/GxP compliance, contractor risk); design resilient supply chains; ensure full compliance with internal policies and external requirements; ensure external services and contractors operate in full alignment with site-level safety, quality and regulatory standards.

  • Sustainability & ESG: Drive ESG outcomes across Technical Services spend (Scope 3, responsible sourcing, energy efficiency, emissions reduction); allocate spend purposefully across the ecosystem of partners (environmental sustainability, human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion); support decarbonisation and resource efficiency initiatives across manufacturing sites and facilities.

  • Process & Technology: Improve speed and user experience of procurement by leveraging technology, process optimisation and driving automation; enable sites to meet production, quality and compliance targets through high-performing external services and suppliers.
