Job Description
Counsel or Senior Counsel (depending on level of experience) will be responsible for supporting the daily legal needs of the Connected Home business unit of Technicolor in North America, based in Norcross, Georgia, just outside of Atlanta, ideally with the ability to also get involved in certain business initiatives in Latin America. The attorney’s responsibility will be (i) drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with both customers and suppliers, including purchase agreements, software agreements, licensing agreements, manufacturing agreements and distribution agreements, (ii) managing legal entities in the Americas, (iii) drafting corporate documents, (iv) interacting with other functional divisions local and worldwide and (v) assisting Associate General Counsel for the Americas on special projects. This position will report to Associate General Counsel for the Americas, with strong and direct interface with senior management of Connected Home, outside counsel, suppliers and customers.
- Experience in negotiating hardware or software development and sales agreements.
• Experience in drafting and negotiating complex technology (hardware and software) agreements with partners and customers.
• Experience with negotiating media transactions with Fortune 500 customers and global partners.
• Superior business acumen.
• Prior in-house experience is a plus.
Qualifications
Education:
JD from an ABA accredited law school.
Certification/Licenses:
Admission to a state bar in the US in good standing.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- At least 3 - 4 years of experience with a focus on commercial transactions, preferably in the media/entertainment industry or technology industry (e.g., hardware or software), and preferably including several years in an in-house setting.
- Client and service focus with the ability to work in a fast-moving, demanding environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and trust, including in dealing with complex and sensitive matters.
- Self-starter with the ability to meet or exceed deadlines, prioritize a multitude of tasks, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Demonstrate the ability to influence and work effectively with multiple stakeholders within a highly-matrixed organization.
Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish required. Portuguese is desirable.
