Description
The Greenwood School of Music seeks a qualified oboist to build and sustain a successful oboe studio and play an active role in the recruitment and retention of oboe majors, as well as collaborate with colleagues in the advancement of the woodwind area. The candidate will be expected to teach applied lessons in oboe including a weekly studio class. The teaching assignment will also include the oboe portion of the double reed techniques course. The successful candidate will rehearse weekly and perform as oboist with Bluestem Blaze, the faculty woodwind quintet. Additional teaching assignments may be in general education or in an area of the candidate’s expertise. The successful candidate is expected to engage in service to the unit and their profession, be productive as an artist/scholar, and to promote a welcoming learning environment. This is a one-year position and is contingent upon available funding.
Qualifications
Master’s degree and applied teaching experience at the university level required. Doctorate or equivalent professional experience preferred. Experience in chamber and orchestral performance desired.
