Your Opportunity
As a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training, you will have the opportunity to work on engineering and geotechnical projects in a multi-disciplined project team environment. Working in one of our Southern California offices where many of Stantec’s design projects take place, you will have the opportunity to exercise your technical and interpersonal skills while growing in your career.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will work with a team of engineers and technologists/technicians performing general geotechnical responsibilities in the field and office.
- Conducting materials testing and inspection services during construction.
- Assisting senior staff with the completion of geotechnical investigations, which will include both field and office-based work.
- Developing technical skills by assisting senior staff with various geotechnical analyses.
- Assisting senior staff with the preparation of technical proposals and reports.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
The successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, excel under minimal supervision, and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license required.
- US EIT Registration.
- 40hr. HAZWOPER preferred
- This position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Must have required travel documents.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, or Occupational Health is preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience in an EHS field, construction safety field, and/or Behavior-Based Safety Program development and management role
OSHA 30-hour construction industry certification or 10-hour construction safety certification recommended
Desire to acquire Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) (or similar) certification
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
