The Assistant Plant Manager plays a key role in overseeing the daily operations across the plant's various industrial, specialty, and medical gas distribution and filling segments. A core responsibility is assisting in the management of all gas cylinder processing while ensuring strict compliance with regulations set forth by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), SAFECOR, and all other pertinent business compliance standards.
Conducts daily collection of FIT/Drive KPI’s and conducts Daily Performance Management, Safety and Shift Change Meetings.
Management of MRP production flows (stock visibility, planning, tracking and replenishment)
Responsible for ensuring daily stock checks of full's and empties are completed. Responsible for daily cycle counts.
Studies production delivery schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for job completion. Manages production assignments to ensure production schedule is met.
Manages quality control of all production equipment, cylinders and materials produced by the plant as required by the Medical Gas Manual, Industrial Gas Manual, and other governing documents.
Responsible for preventive maintenance (PM) program for plant production equipment, verification of PMs completed by production staff, and training of staff on proper PM procedures.
Coordinates with Plant Manager and Cylinder Maintenance Staff to provide prompt investigation results of all complaint cylinders to the Plant Manager.
Ensures training and qualification records and courses are completed on time for self and direct reports. Facilitates time for direct reports to complete required training.
Coordinates with the Plant Coordinator regarding inventory levels for and ordering or consumables, supplies, and spare parts required.
Coordinates with the Plant Coordinator regarding production needs for material shipments to branches and plants.
Verifies and/or prepares records such as routing slips, material requisitions, and job orders as needed.
Maintains time, production records, and required daily FDA PCR reviews.
Performs Job Training Observations for direct reports as required. Observes safety, tasks of associates on a daily basis and provides constructive feedback/coaching.
Follows and maintains all FDA, OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements and regulations.
Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
