Purpose

To coordinate the daily operations of a research program within the Center for Transportation Research

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research activities related to transportation safety and operations.

  • Compile resources and training materials in a manner that best benefits government agencies and community engagement.

  • Contribute to grant applications, peer-reviewed journal publications, and conference presentations.

  • Work in collaboration with CTR researchers, project sponsors, and subcontractors to ensure all projects are executed on time and on budget.

  • Effectively communicate and work within a team to execute goals and solve problems within the unit or between units.

  • Manage multiple contracts, subcontracts, and budgets, including communications and scheduling meetings.

  • Conduct fiscal year budget planning and monthly expenditure tracking.

  • Support budget development for grant applications and contracts.

  • Coordinate staff assignments across projects.

  • Facilitate hiring for graduate research assistants, research fellows, and visiting scholars.

  • Coordinate the purchase of supplies and reimbursement process.

  • Other duties as needed or assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Geosciences, Natural Sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics) or closely related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel. 

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
