Job Description
Turner & Townsend Heery are seeking a Director of Financial Services. The Director of Financial Services will be responsible for leading the technical and financial accounting, compliance, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and tax compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring the organization's financial health, reporting accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Director will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving data-driven decision-making and maintaining a culture of financial integrity.
Reporting Structure: The Director of Financial Services will report to the Executive VP of Turner & Townsend Heery, with indirect accountability to the Turner & Townsend (parent company) US Finance Director and will collaborate with other senior leaders within Turner & Townsend Heery.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting:
- Lead the preparation and reporting of timely accurate financial information (in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP and Group accounting policy) so that operations teams can make well informed business
- Maintain strong internal control environment to ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
- Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger and oversee reconciliation processes.
- Oversee joint venture accounting.
- Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
- Manage cashflow and credit risk across the business.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to align with the organization’s strategic goals and oversee measurements of actual performance to budget/forecast working with operational teams to manage challenges faced by the business.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making at all levels.
- Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and variances.
- Collaborate with business units to identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
- Lead and support team in the integration to D365 and SOx environment; Ensure a smooth transition and confirm ongoing requirements are met.
Tax & Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all tax regulations, filing deadlines, and reporting requirements.
- Manage relationships with tax authorities and advisors to minimize tax liabilities.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting obligations.
- Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure adherence to financial regulations and ethical standards.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Accounting or Finance Degree from an accredited University with 10+ years of experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required.
- Experience working in the professional services/consulting sector preferred but not required.
- Experience with a Puerto Rican business preferred but not required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to lead a team of 15 professionals
- Strong technical and financial accounting skills, FP&A, tax, analytical ability and good financial judgment
- Strong expertise in financial accounting, FP&A, and tax regulations.
- Confident self-starter with good interpersonal skills and strong leadership and management style which inspires loyalty and commitment - strive to ensure all staff find their work fun, challenging and stimulating
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
