Requirements:  PEL for Elementary Education or Active Certified Substitute License

Performance Responsibilities: 

1. Strives to implement the district's philosophy of education, strategic plan, state learning goals and instructional goals and objectives.
2. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct.
3. Instructs and assesses students as specified by state law and the administration of the school district.
4. Prepares lesson plans/objectives to meet the individual needs, interest, and abilities of learners and provides individual assistance as needed.
5. Prepares and maintains records on student achievement.
6. Communicates with principal, colleagues, counselor, parents and students about student achievement on a regular basis.
7. Utilizes best practice instructional and assessment practices.
8. Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment by developing a classroom management plan.
9. Maintains professional competence through inservice education activities as developed individually or by the building principal.
10. Requisitions books, supplies, and instructional materials appropriate to the ability of the learner as outlined in the budget process.
11. Handles classroom and school discipline effectively.
12. Handles communication between school and home effectively and proactively.
