Job Description:
Airbus U.S. Assembly Facility is looking for a Director of Competence and Learning to join our team based in Mobile, Alabama.
You will be providing strategic direction to the Early Careers, and Training organizations for the site. You will also provide leadership to the training leaders and early careers leader. Provide Strategic Management of Early Careers & Training cost centers including the management of external state incentive budgets and lead all elements of competency & learning so that the site has a competent workforce to meet current needs and is ready for growth and employee’s career growth is enabled.

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to improve its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategically Lead Mobile Site Training Function (40%)
- Lead the strategic vision that will develop and implement a competency & learning strategy that ensures the site has the right competencies in place to meet the Mobile Manufacturing Sites need.
- Lead all elements of learning management, including forecasting and planning, governance and coordination, design, delivery, logistics management, evaluation, trainer competence and facilities management.
- Provide internal service for scheduling, coordinating and recording training run by internal subject matter experts.
- Facilitate the creation, validation and source development options for operational and functional job learning paths.
- Facilitate effective management of competencies across the Mobile Manufacturing site.
- Collaborate and drive other training providers (such as quality, EHS, project management) to adopt single view of training requirements for the site.
- Deliver regular and adhoc reporting to site leadership.
- Ensure training meets regulatory requirements, specifically EASA, TCAA and FAA.
