Data Security Manager

Job Purpose

Manages enterprise data security to ensure high levels of availability and performance of all Christie Lites Locations.  Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure network and systems security that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. 

Responsibilities

1. Ensure all servers, networks, and endpoints are compliant with the established security policy. 
2. Responds to security alerts to assess and remediate security incidents.
3. Research current and emerging security threats.
4. Manage risky user behavior.

1. Ensure all servers, networks, and endpoints are compliant with the established security policy by: 

• Installing scheduled systems and network security patches.
• Ensuring endpoint protection is up to date and active.
• Auditing servers to ensure no unauthorized software is installed or services running.
• Auditing workstations to ensure proper software and usage compliance.

2. Responds to security alerts to assess and remediate security incidents by: 

• Investigating incident alerts and determining the best course of action to remediate the issue.
• Performing remediation actions to isolate and eliminate active threats and/or compromises.
• Escalating high-risk events to IT Management and SOC as needed for additional support. 

3. Research current and emerging security threats by: 

• Consistently reading security articles and case studies from reputable sources to identify and understand emerging threats.
• Determine the risk of emerging threats to the environment.
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies to combat emerging threats.
• Performing vulnerability scans within the network to proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

4. Manage risky user behavior by: 

• Auditing security logs to identify risky user and device behavior.
• Educating users on security best practices.
• Reporting security violations to IT Management.

Professional Attributes for success in this role

• Four-year degree in Business or Computer Science. 
• 8+ years of progressive experience. 
• Strong operational & production support background. 
• Expert knowledge in securing and monitoring on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
• Advanced knowledge using forensic tools when investigating incidents.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with strong interpersonal skills. 
• CCNP, CCIE, CCST, CISSP, Security+ preferred.
