About the role

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Community Clinical Therapist or RN Providence Police Per Diem will support and maintain a relationship with Providence fire and police Chiefs by performing a range of clinical and administrative functions under the direction of the Supervisor.

Provide triage and assessment services for individuals in the community experiencing a psychiatric crisis.

Work closely with and provide education and training (individual and/or group) to pre-trial services, community agencies, the police department, the fire department and other first responders.


Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide and coordinate with fire, police and first responders for the provision of triage and assessment services for individuals in the community experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Identify and develop diversion opportunities and/or hospitalization for identified persons.

Work closely with TPC Acute Care Programs – Emergency Services, Engagement and Diversion, Crisis Stabilization Unit and other teams as appropriate to coordinate care and services.

Facilitate collaborative relationships with the police department, the fire department and other first responders. Identify and develop training as appropriate for same.

Serve as a community liaison for Community Diversion with community agencies.

Collaborate with marketing to develop a communication plan to promote and market the Community Diversion program.

Represent the Community Diversion program in both internal and external meetings for the organization.

Organize and support the team’s daily delivery of service. Meet program goals/standards of care in accordance with Center policies and BHDDH regulations.

Treat consumers with respect; promote their dignity, accept their values and lifestyles and maintain their confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.

Be flexible in regard to providing services within the timeframe and schedule required to best support the Police department and the needs of the community.

Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.

Complete required assessment, hospitalization and emergency certification forms, progress notes and discharge forms.

Develop and implement a plan of care with ongoing consumer input.

Follow required office procedures in a cooperative manner.

Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.

Provide feedback to staff on the content of educational programs attended.

Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required.

Participate in the education of other Center staff.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, community agencies and the public.
