The Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op will work both individually as well as on cross-functional teams to complete a variety of projects focused on improving safety and quality, reducing cost, and increasing on-time delivery (OTD) in a high precision manufacturing facility. This may include implementing lean operations such as setting up product flow, KANBAN, and FIFO, CAD modeling, automation research and implementation, performing time observations, and data collection and analysis.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run Jan-May (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Assists with preparing quality related items and documentation to ensure that established quality standards are met. 
  • Collaborate in compiling information on cell performance and productivity so that manufacturing performance can be analyzed.
  • Research, review and test techniques for efficiency and planning
  • Help identify operational issues by studying functional and performance systems

  • Gain knowledge of the sequencing of work such as build and delivery, to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Developing strong leadership skills to coordinate across teams and ensure project efficiency is essential.
  • Attention to Detail and Compliance: Understanding the importance of meticulous documentation and adherence to standards in engineering practices is critical for success.
