Senior Security Officer - SECURITY Department, Kadlec Regional Medical Center, Richland, WA

The Security Officer III receives general direction from the Security Manager or Supervisor. Performs a variety of advanced performance level technical security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces and provides direction to other security officers to enforce Kadlec, facility and security policies and regulations. Provides support to the department in the areas of scheduling, accountability, security and safety. Responds to changes in emergent staffing needs. Investigates or provides direction to others in investigating reports of potential criminal conduct against Kadlec staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provides protective services to high risk areas. In the absence of a supervisor, acts as the security department liaison for other departments within Kadlec, law enforcement agencies, and other outside agencies that interact with security. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.

Shift: Part- time, Night  shift, 32 hours

Required Qualifications:

• Must complete department leadership course
• Driving may be necessary as part of this role upon request. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request. See policy for additional information
• 3 years Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience, or related work experience in a healthcare setting, or relevant college coursework deemed important to the job
• 2 years experience working within the Kadlec Security department, passage of the Security Department SO2 Promotion Test, and the passage of a Security Department administered oral board

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Criminal justice, History, or English
• 3 years prior experience in healthcare setting
