MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Field IT Support Technician Lead to join our team in Springfield, VA. This position will transition to Herndon, VA by late 2025 or early 2026. In this leadership role, you will guide a team in performing diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work on mission-critical systems and hardware. You will help ensure service excellence, technical accuracy, and compliance with customer and OEM standards.
 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a team of technicians in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing component-level repairs on satellite systems, CISCO network devices, UPS power systems, and IT hardware.
  • Ensure timely restoration of systems to full operational status while maintaining adherence to OEM and customer specifications.
  • Oversee daily repair workflows, vendor returns, inventory management, technical documentation, and quality assurance reporting (QASP).
  • Provide expert-level on-site support and technical guidance to maintain service continuity and meet customer operational needs.
  • Support team operations during 8-hour shifts between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM; local travel may be required between buildings or alternate sites.
  • Perform personnel management duties including interviewing, hiring, performance coaching, career enablement, and requisition creation.
  • Share institutional knowledge and expertise to enhance team performance by contributing to Knowledge Articles, Work Instructions, and SOPs.
  • Support customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as defined by the program
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with 11+ years of relevant experience, OR Associate’s degree with 9+ years, OR Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting, repairing, and testing equipment, maintaining network systems, and supporting IT hardware.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing satellite communication systems, CISCO switches/routers, UPS systems, and computing peripherals.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics, use diagnostic tools, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing diverse technical teams in direct support of customer requirements.
