Overview
The Production Analyst participates in the development, leadership and management of the SAP based operational functions and performance for the Brookfield cement plant. The analyst works closely with the operations team to ensure the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance while leveraging production excellence to create superior products & services based on the highest productivity at the lowest cost of production.
Primary responsibility is to champion the data integrity to ensure an efficient flow of production data through the SAP system to provide uninterrupted supply of product through the system processes. The Production Analyst will be responsible for individual plant and production performance reporting, i.e. running equipment efficiency, uptime, downtime, capex and trend analysis. The incumbent will be seen as an “SAP Super User” and “Data Gatekeeper” who will oversee and assist with the administrative workflow, material creation and management of inventory continuities.
Responsibilities
Safety:

Plant Optimization:
- Participate in optimization and benchmarking.
- Review and streamline work methods (schedules, SOP’s, implement Best Practices) in order to minimize cost & improving efficiencies.
- Function as an integral member of the management team with a focus on plant performance and continuous improvement.
- It is essential that the production analyst work very closely with production and process personnel to ensure continuity within plant operations.
- Responsible for maintenance of master data including daily production reporting, material recipes, long term planning - recipe, resource capacity, and energy consumption factors.
Production:
- Responsible for production forecast including 3-year mid-term plan entry into MBP; daily weekly and monthly confirmation and conversion of planned orders to process orders.
- Resolves daily issues relating to cement production and works with other Departments to resolves issues which can impact shipments or product quality.
- Ability to lead production checks and propose action plans from this.
- Guide physical inventory tracking and control.
- Ensure accurate movement of fuels and materials through production orders.
- Communicate non-compliance issues, deficiencies and corrections required to appropriate plant personnel.
- Interface with maintenance on the weekly production/maintenance planning meeting.
- Support production functions as required in a leading role.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Responsible for process orders management, daily confirmation of process and grind orders clearing of goods movement errors occurring after confirmation, completing process orders monthly, balance physical inventories of cement, clinker, and raw meal weekly and all other materials associated with production on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, ensuring production versus consumption ratios are correct for all LHARP functional areas, ensure raw material extraction, raw material preparation, and cement factors are correct each month and completing all process order TECO on a timely basis.
- The incumbent will also provide leadership and accountability for reporting accurate downtime notifications, use of correct heat factors, completion of downtime notifications and confirmations, and creation and execution of process orders
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Take the lead on production budget, PDP, and MTP development, which includes cost and volumes, completing all necessary inputs into SAP for the budgeting process and verify the data entries into SAP via the BW Reports.
- In addition, the analyst will utilize MBP tool and budgeting interface and become a BW power user (ability to create specific queries in regards to BW reports).
Continuous Improvement:
- Striving for continuous improvement of equipment performance, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness.
- Be involved in the field portion of studies, trials, or modifications, taking measurements, making adjustments, and collecting and compiling all relevant data for the purpose of evaluation, providing conclusions and/or determination of follow-up action.
