Job Summary:
The Manager, Engineering & Construction is responsible for ensuring the efficient buildout of our renewable natural gas (RNG) asset network, maximizing uptime and production through value added engineering and intelligent design while gaining efficiencies in time and cost to construct for our CNG Services business unit. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Biogas Construction. The incumbent will collaborate extensively with the operations and biogas staff through regular virtual and on-site meetings to assist with the design and commissioning of new plants with a strong focus on implementing process and design improvements. The ideal candidate will be skilled in vendor management, various CAD technologies, and familiar with common gas processing equipment or similar. A results-oriented, self-motivated project manager is needed to work cross-functionally to support or lead a diverse set of project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full scope, including but not limited to, drawing review and revision, project schedule, vendors, contractors, and internal resources for IGS facilities digesting dairy manure into biogas and upgrading into RNG. Expectation is 2-3 concurrent projects.
Work cross functionally with the construction and operations teams to identify areas of improvement to constructability and/or operability.
Drive the commissioning efforts (from the construction standpoint) at new IGS facilities as they come online.
Lead meetings with engineering and contractor vendors related to the active projects.
Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and monitor project metrics and manage project data. Incorporate lessons learned and evaluate new project designs from an operations perspective.
Work with software such as AutoCAD to create 2D layouts of sites to facilitate quick and effective communication with third party engineers or contractors.
Perform QA/QC activities throughout project construction to ensure facilities are being built as designed.
Identify value-added engineering process improvement projects to increase efficiencies in construction timelines.
Track project progress and reporting to create and ensure as built drawings are accurate and complete
While focused mainly on RNG facility construction, this position may be assigned projects focused on the construction of CNG stations.
This position may have one or two direct reports.
Work Location:
The majority of biogas projects will be located in Ohio and Indiana. The ability to easily drive to a site is a requirement. The ideal candidate will live in the Columbus, Ohio area (strongly preferred) working from the office when not in the field. Indianapolis, IN or Fort Wayne, IN locales are possibilities for strong candidates. Some overnight travel is expected, with the goal to be home most nights dependent on candidate’s home location. A company vehicle may be provided with this position but is not guaranteed. Mileage will be paid in leu of a vehicle.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or similar.
5-10 years of engineering related project management experience. Ideally with experience in power generation, water/wastewater, biofuels (ethanol, biodiesel, digesters, landfill), oil and gas exploration and production, midstream or refinery experience.
Current P.E. License strongly preferred.
Existing leadership experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated succinct, clear communication (oral and written) as well as reporting and analyzing KPIs.
Detail oriented, self-starter.
Track record of delivering results and solving complex design and engineering challenges.
Willingness to travel to all IGS plants to conduct work. Expected up to 50% travel, home most nights.
Has a strong adherence to safety protocols
Can successfully contribute both as an individual and as part of a team
Licensed to drive a company provided vehicle with an insurable driving record required.
Salary Range:
$108,950.00 - $174,320.00*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.
