About the role

This is a remote position.

Schedule:  Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (1-hour unpaid break)
Total Weekly Hours: 40 hours

The CAD Coordinator Assistant supports the CAD Coordinator in managing custom product drawings and related communications. This role ensures smooth project flow by organizing files, handling internal and external communications, and tracking deadlines. It’s ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in a fast-paced, remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. CAD Drawing Support

  • Assist in reviewing and processing CAD requests from teams and customers

  • Help revise and send drawings for customer feedback and approval

  • Ensure drawings meet measurement, product, and client specifications

2. Internal Team Collaboration

  • Act as a liaison between design, production, and sales teams

  • Coordinate meetings to review CAD designs and revisions

  • Keep teams updated on drawing versions and customer input

3. Customer & Vendor Communication

  • Communicate with customers regarding revisions and feedback

  • Follow up with vendors for design clarifications and specs

  • Keep customers informed on drawing status and timelines

4. File Management

  • Maintain organized, version-controlled CAD files in cloud systems

  • Update documentation with the latest revisions

  • Manage file-sharing and storage tools

5. Timely Drawing Delivery

  • Ensure drawings are delivered on time to customers and production teams

  • Track project timelines and coordinate drawing schedules

6. Technical Assistance

  • Provide basic CAD-related support to internal teams

  • Help onboard new staff on CAD tools and processes

7. Support for Installation Teams

  • Share final drawings and technical info with field teams

  • Ensure installation guidelines are clear and accessible

8. Inventory & Materials Tracking

  • Help track materials needed based on CAD drawings

  • Flag and resolve discrepancies between drawings and materials


Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) preferred but not required

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Comfortable with virtual collaboration tools and cloud-based storage

  • Experience with project management tools is a plus
