Position Overview

The Retail Data Platforms and Business Intelligence Manager will help lead the data engineering and data democratization efforts for the Samsung Retail Division. This position will be responsible for large transformational technical projects from inception through implementation, delivering on time, and to the satisfaction of the leadership team. Retail Data Platforms and Business Intelligence Manager will apply a wide range of knowledge, technical skills, and abilities to analyze and manage strategic initiatives and drive them to completion.

The successful candidate will be a motivated change agent who can work cross-functionally across the business to quickly identify vulnerabilities and create innovative solutions to address problems. This individual will develop strong partnerships with business counterparts and product owners, ensuring capability, usability and compliance requirements are met for both internal and external customers.

The ideal candidate should be endlessly curious, passionate about getting relevant insights from data, be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, able to work directly with the data, and thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

• Responsible for managing the planning, design and development of a large-scale BI projects including the build out of the Datamart for Retail and ongoing deployment of several dashboards
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive patterns from multiple datasets
• Defines need, resources and works to obtain needed resources to ensure project completion
• Engage business stakeholders to identify and incorporate business owned project tasks and dependencies
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Responsible for leading the continuous design and development of insightful dashboards using Tableau which informs the Retail leadership about the state of the business and opportunities for improvement
• Ability to translate complex data analyses and insights into executive level communications
• Responsible for the successful design, implementation and documentation of data architecture and data modeling solutions for the Retail Organization
• Oversee and govern the build out and expansion of data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices
• Motivates others through setting priorities and objectives
• Defines and develops departmental level project/program policies processes, standards, governance, and metrics

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, CS or similar field with 6+ years of directly related experience
• 6+ years of experience building sophisticated and elegant dashboards in Tableau
• 4-6 years of experience designing and building complex transformations in the latest versions of Alteryx

• Work experience in data engineering, BI development, data science
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with minimal direction
• Expert experience working with relational database management systems, cubes and cloud solutions (AWS Athena, MS-SQL Server, PostgreSQL), including building complex queries and designing and using data sources and application program interfaces (API)
• Expert in writing complex SQL
• Strong experience in build ETL solutions across multiple platforms
• Excellent analytical, diagnostic, and reporting skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail
