JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Physiology Education, in collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, Associate Dean of Pre-Clerkship Curriculum, and the Director of the Center for Anatomical Science and Education (CASE), is responsible for the oversight of the design, implementation, and teaching of the physiology curriculum in the School of Medicine MD program and the Medical Anatomy and Physiology (MAPP) post-baccalaureate program.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The job responsibilities should be prioritized in order of importance (i.e. #1 being the most important job responsibility)
1. (50%) In collaboration with the Office of Curricular Affairs, design and oversee the delivery of the physiology curriculum for the MD Program, including the curation and development of teaching and assessment materials and serving on education committees related to the MD program.
2. (30%) In collaboration with CASE, design and oversee the delivery of the physiology curriculum for the MAPP Program, including the curation and development of teaching and assessment materials and serving on education committees related to the MAPP Program.
3. (20%) Participates in scholarly activity related to Pharmacology/Physiology or medical education
4. (0%) Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for exceptional teaching at the medical school and graduate level in the areas mentioned in the job responsibilities section, demonstrate potential for research, and work well with the rest of faculty team. He or she will be a clear communicator, have relevant content and clinical expertise, have a passion for teaching at the undergraduate medical education level and graduate level, and have basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel), as well as the software used to prepare written exams and learning management systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
M.D. D.O., or Ph.D. in foundational/biomedical sciences, or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of experience with medical education or related fields, including, but not limited to, small group learning facilitation and curriculum oversight. Five or more years preferred.
Experience in applying the principles of adult learning theory, development of competency-based education, and assessment of student learning (skills, knowledge, and attitudes) through course, module, or new content development.
