Position Summary: Operates and maintains the ammonia refrigeration system:
- Repairs and maintains spiral freezers, air units, boilers, compressors, CO2 system, air pressure, chilled water, and plant temperatures.
- Troubleshoots inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment to detect root cause.
- Listens for unusual sounds.
- Feels for unusual vibration.
- Communicates with users regarding what was observed or smelled.
- Dismantles inoperable or malfunctioning machinery and supporting equipment, installs new or repaired parts and reassembles the machinery or supporting equipment.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of the machinery and supporting equipment as part of the Preventative Maintenance Program
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
